What is SkillsPals?
SkillsPals is a family of multisensory developmental toys with nature-inspired forms, varied colours and tactile surfaces.
Children can touch, hold, rotate, compare, separate and reconnect the characters — through open-ended play or activities guided by a parent, educator or professional.

Play, explore, develop
SkillsPals invites children to discover through direct, hands-on interaction. Activities can be adapted to their age, abilities and interests.
Touch, hold, rotate and compare different shapes, textures and colours.
Separate, match and reconnect the silicone tops and PLA bases.
Create characters, stories and playful worlds without a predetermined storyline.
Share discoveries, take turns and adapt activities with a parent, educator or professional.
These experiences may support tactile awareness, hand use, attention, imagination and shared interaction — without promising a particular outcome.
Research & Professional Background
SkillsPals and Marokbaba are supported by an ongoing body of research, professional experience, institutional learning and methodological work.
Research examines the product concept, tactile interaction and user experience.
Practitioners document use in guided developmental and healthcare settings.
Real-world use provides insight into integration in professional practice.
Structured frameworks support thoughtful, adaptable and guided activities.
Relevant literature provides broader context for sensory activities, attention, therapeutic play and self-regulation.
Professional use in practice
SkillsPals can be included in professionally guided activities when the practitioner considers the character appropriate for the individual, the setting and the purpose.
Reports describe use for playful contact, engagement and attention guidance during paediatric encounters.
Marokbaba has been introduced to support contact, communication and attention when professionals work with children.
The characters can complement guided activities involving touch, grip, rotation, comparison, separation and reconnection.
Professional materials describe voluntary, choice-led and interruptible activities that respect personal boundaries and practitioner competence.
Professional observations describe tactile activity, participation and opportunities for connection — not measured clinical effectiveness or a separate medical intended purpose.
